Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy is novel immunotherapeutic approach which is indicated for the management of cancer. CAR T-cell therapy is a type of therapy in which the T-cells are taken from the blood of the patient, which is then modified in a lab by the addition of a gene for a man-made receptor (chimeric antigen receptor). This aids in better recognizing of specific cancer cell antigens.
