1. Eligibility:

Both parties must be of legal marriageable age, which is 18 years for the bride and 21 years for the groom.
They should be of sound mind and capable of giving valid consent.
Neither party should have a spouse living at the time of marriage.
The parties should not be closely related by blood.
2. Notice of Intention:

The first step is to give notice of intention to marry at the office of the Marriage Registrar in the district where either party has resided for at least 30 days prior to the date of notice. This notice is filed online.
3. Publication of Notice:

After the notice is filed, it is published on the official notice board of the Marriage Registrar’s office for a 30-day public notice period.
