In Noida, man electrocuted after transformer catches fire

A man who was drenched in rain died of electrocution on Thursday in Noida after he accidentally placed his hand near a transformer, which was not barricaded, and it caught fire, alleged his family. The incident happened at around 9 am when he was returning from a temple, about 100 metres from his house. His family has accused the electricity department of negligence and filed a complaint, said police. The body has been sent for autopsy and the cause of death is yet to be confirmed, officials added.
