Qatar’s population will expand in 2021-2040 as a result of natural increase and a resumption of positive net migration, after a decline in 2020-2021 as many foreign workers left the country due to the pandemic. Ageing will accelerate in 2020-2040, affecting consumer trends as 70+ age groups grow rapidly. As a high-income country with an expanding population, Qatar should continue to be an attractive consumer market as its economy recovers from the pandemic.
