Pakistan’s growing economy has given rise to a large fashion market. Iconic clothing brands like Maria B, Sana Safinaz, Limelight and Asim Jofa have achieved recognition both domestically and internationally. While Western-style outfits gained prominence, traditional Pakistani wear never lost its relevance. Shalwar kameez, a two-piece dress consisting of a long tunic and loose-fitting pants, remains the national dress for women. Men’s traditional attire includes kurta pajamas and sherwani suits.
