Gary Ross’ dystopian science fiction film “The Hunger Games” (2012) is based on Suzanne Collins’ book. The story takes place in a future Panem, where 12 districts are required to send a boy and a girl to compete in the yearly Hunger Games, which is a televised death match. Jennifer Lawrence’s character Katniss Everdeen offers to step in for her sister. With fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), Katniss must survive the deadly arena using her skills and intelligence.
