Spirit Airlines has a strict cancellation and refund policy, but there are certain circumstances where you may be eligible for a refund. If you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of booking and your flight is scheduled to depart at least seven days later, you can receive a full refund without any cancellation fees. This is in line with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s 24-hour rule.
Outside of the 24-hour window, Spirit typically does not offer refunds for cancellations. However, if you’ve purchased the Flight Flex add-on or are a member of their Fare Club, you may be able to make changes or cancel your flight with fewer fees. Without these, cancellations may result in a fee that reduces the amount of any travel credit or refund you might receive. Instead of cash refunds, Spirit often issues travel credits for future flights, which come with expiration dates and other restrictions.
